Considerate Constructors Award for Team Humber

27 March 2019

On Wednesday 27 March, the 2019 Silver Considerate Constructors Award was presented to 'Team Humber'. The team includes the members of the joint venture formed by A.Hak, Skanska and PORR, who are working together on the River Humber Gas Pipeline Replacement Project.

The award is a great achievement for all involved, as the jury report clearly showed: ‘This site has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving the image of construction, achieving exemplary standards in all areas of the Code of Considerate Practice. The award-winning project is a credit to Humber Pipeline Tunnel Joint Venture and to the site team involved.’

The joint venture has previously received high marks from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), an independent non-profit organisation set up in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.

Joint venture partners A.Hak, Skanska and PORR construct a 5.4 km long tunnel under the river Humber. An important project for their client National Grid. Annually, some 20 per cent of the national gas volume of the United Kingdom will pass through the tunnel under the river estuary at the English East Coast.
